The Preemie Project

I realize that it's been a year since I last blogged and I really need to pull it together. I am currently pregnant with my 4th high risk pregnancy and a friend of mine has asked me to help her with a project. Seeing that I have already had 3 preemie babies and this will likely be my 4th, this cause is very dear to my heart. If you can help in any way, please do!!

Happy Halloween~

For Halloween this year Madelynne was a mermaid (not sure how the magic wand got in the picture) , Bridger was a Knight and EmmaLeigh was the cutest Leprechaun you have ever seen.

It was hard to come up with a mermaid costume that Madelynne could actually walk in but, I think it worked out ok. It was a tad dangerous with her tail so accessible to other people walking by. We had a few incidents but, nothing to harmful. She did lose her skirt once when someone decided to stand on her tail as she was walking away but, other than that her costume was a success. If you ask her what the best part of her costume is, she would undoubtedly say, "I got my hair dyed pink" Yes, we did spray some pink streaks of washable hairspray in her hair on Friday...3 days and 2 showers later, it is now Sunday and her hair is still pink!! She's in heaven.

EmmaLeigh found this hat a few months ago when we were at Toys R Us. She put it on her head and wore it around the entire store. It was so funny that I had to buy it. Luckily it was only a dollar something. It was the perfect inspiration for her Halloween costume this year. With her red hair and tiny little body, she makes for a perfect Leprechaun.

Bridger wanted to be a super hero this year. We had his costume all set and then Thursday he changed his mind. He found this helmet and shield at the dollar spot at Target and knew instantly that he had to be a knight.

Fall Fun at the Lawerance's Fall Festival~

Every year my friend Staci and her family throw a huge bash full of fun, games, crafts, food and
prizes for all the kids. Last year it was a spring fling and this
year it was a carnival themed Fall Festival. The kids always have so much fun!!

Arriving at the Fall Festival. The kids are cashing in their play money for tickets to play all the carnival games. They were super excited.

Getting ready for musical chairs

Cute lil' pumpkin

I love how Madelynne's hand is sticking out perfectly from the side of the picture. lol

Lunch was a yummy assortment of Circus peanuts, hot dogs, chips, pretzels, cotton candy, fresh popped popcorn, red kool aid and funnel cake.

EmmaLeigh having some scrumptious lunch. I asked her what she was eating, thinking she would show me her peanut in her hand but, opened wide just as I snapped the picture. Notice that she has a mouth full of peanuts...shell and all. mmm, mmm good. lol

Shoveling in the cotton candy.

Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch

In years past we have not had to have any rules when picking out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch however, this year we found the need to add 1 tiny stipulation...
"If you can't pick it up, you can't have it"
It seemed to be taking the kids an especially long time to find a suitable pumpkin that they could actually carry by themselves so Madelynne had an ingenious idea. She would ask her brother for help. Here they are trying to pick up a pumpkin together. Even with the power of 2, the pumpkin was still too heavy. lol

EmmaLeigh had no problem finding a pumpkin instantly. She toted her prize pumpkin all around the pumpkin patch.

We can't wait for Halloween so we can carve our pumpkins and roast our seeds.

I just couldn't resist adding this last picture of these cute little witches potion bottles I just made. Aren't they adorable? :)

Life is life and that's all I have to say about that

Madelynne was in the hospital yet again for Pseudomonus. We were there for over a week on I.V. antibiotics. We came home with a crazy voodoo regamine that we have to do every single night. Bleach baths, hibiclense showers, gentimicin injections directly into her bladder...the list goes on. On an up side she met a "best friend" Jenna while she was in the hospital. The two of them spent every second together that they weren't being poked and prodded by the doctors.
Madelynne got herself "bedazzled"

Giving a few Pokes of their own during some supervised medical play with Child Life.

My littlest models in one of the newest in the hoop embroidery designs by Embroitique

Greg took Bridger out in the woods for some pre season hunting preparations. EmmaLeigh cried for 30 minutes because she wasn't allowed to go. Luckily she didn't go because Bridger came home with over a 100 seed ticks and chigger bites all over his little body. Poor little guy!!!

EmmaLeigh turned 2

Here she is saying, "I two"

Auntie Lara came to live with us for a while. Lucky us!! She brought her cute little dog Theo. We love both of them and the kids are over joyed to have a pet.

Madelynne lost her first tooth. You can barely tell since her permanent tooth grew in sometime ago but, she was elated to have her first visit from the toothfairy!!!

a long blogging hiatus

I guess it's appropriate to say that life has been full lately. I hate that it has been too crazy to blog. We have had so much going on. To start off, Madelynne STILL has psudomonus!!! This is probably the number one reason I have not been around. I am so over this stupid infection! Too bad this bacteria can't seem to get the memo. We met with some Lawyers from Meadows and Macie. They are wanting to take our case on contingency (if they can get the Dr. to back them) I really pray he does!! Poor Madelynne has been through the wringer. It would be nice if she had something positive to show for it. It would also be nice for Target to take responsibility and help ensure this doesn't happen to someone else. There are too many details of the rest of life including, all three children having Von Willibrands Blood Disorder, Madelynne missing the entire last 7 months of school, Madelynne going to summer school, Greg receiving a new calling as Bishop, Madelynne getting her new custom Wheelchair, EmmaLeigh finally getting more than 6 teeth, several of my designs being featured in a magazine, lots of summer trips planned...

We have managed to mix a few fun things in with the drama. Here are some pics of what has been going on in our world...

Madelynne "rolled" her first 5K. After receiveing her wheel chair we signed up for the "Run from Hunger" 5K race. We were all going to run but, when we got there it was POURING down rain. The 2 younger kids and I stayed under the cabana while Greg and Madelynne ran the race. He pushed her the entire race and when they were finished, she wanted to know when they could do another one.

EmmaLeigh waiting in the rain for Madelynne and Daddy to finish the race. Bridger was sliding down the wet slides in the rain.

Rolling into the finish

Finish Line Greeter.

Madelynne was so proud of her winning medal, "first place in the wheelchair division.

The Daddy Daughter Dance
Greg took the girls to the annual Daddy Daughter Dance at the church.

Here is my attempt to take a picture without that stinkin bottle...This is so much better. lol

We got to go to the Georgia Aquarium
Can't resist a chance at getting your face painted!

EmmaLeigh loved all the fish

Madelynne and her friend Aubrey in front of the giant fish tank

Bridger loved touching everything...I was so surprised. He is usually a big wimp about stuff like that.

Bridger and his friend Dawson inside the viewing bubble

EmmaLeigh was so tired at the end, she grabbed her blanket and empty bottle and called it a day.

EmmaLeigh and Sophie hiding under the table, getting into mischief. They are so sneaky!

EmmaLeigh protesting her photo shoot...

This will have to do. Tear streaked but, atleast her mouth is closed.

We remodeled our powder room
New flooring, vanity, mirror and light fixture

I love how it turned out.

This is my newest embroidery design that will be for sale very soon.
Just doing my part to make the world a little safer

One super hero at a time!

I couldn't resist! This is my favorite shot of them all. It is probably the only picture you will ever see of EmmaLeigh without a bow but, I just couldn't help myself.
